About Us

Our Mission

The Kent Museum is dedicated to preserving and showcasing a provincially designated historic site emblematic of Acadia and New Brunswick, bearing witness to the immeasurable contribution of religious sisters to education.

Through the conservation of this architectural gem and the presentation of its collections of artifacts, paintings, and sculptures, the institution brings into dialogue the memory of educational life with artistic creation, past and present.

Faithful to an educational mission that began within these walls in 1880, the Kent Museum has continually evolved in its vocation. It is currently envisioning the development of an interpretive centre highlighting the fundamental role of education as a driver of women’s advancement and social progress, thereby extending the educational legacy that continues to inspire it.
